Crackdown on village crime begins

A week of action has begun to cut down on crime and anti-social behaviour in a Nottinghamshire village.

More police will be patrolling the streets of Keyworth as part of the project set up by the South Notts Community Safety Partnership.

Fire officers and road safety teams will be giving safety advice to primary school pupils.

Council staff will also be removing graffiti and cleaning streets as part of the crackdown which ends on 20 July.

Dog patrols will round up strays during the week and will be urging dog owners to clean up after their animals.
