Teacher faces pupil attack charge

Jack Waterhouse

A 49-year-old science teacher is to appear in court charged with the attempted murder of a 14-year-old pupil at a Nottinghamshire school.

Peter Harvey was arrested after pupil Jack Waterhouse was injured and two other pupils were hurt at All Saints' Roman Catholic School in Mansfield.

Police said the alleged incident took place at the school, in Broomhill Lane, on Wednesday.

Mr Harvey will appear at Mansfield Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Jack was initially taken to King's Mill Hospital but later transferred to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where his condition was described as serious but stable on Friday morning.
