Beheaded kitten found in bin bag

A "callous and horrific attack" on two kittens found dead in Nottingham is being investigated by the RSPCA.

A jogger found the animals wrapped in a bin liner and left behind allotments, near Western Boulevard in Old Basford, on Saturday morning.

One kitten had been beheaded and also had broken front legs. Inspectors said it had been killed with a forceful blow - possibly inflicted using a spade.

An appeal has been made for anyone with information to come forward.

An RSPCA spokesman said: "This is clearly a callous and horrific attack on two of the most defenceless of animals.

"We believe the two animals could not have been dead for longer than 72 hours and would ask anyone who knows what happened to get in touch".
