Bus station project due to start

Work is due to start on a major facelift at the main bus station in a Nottinghamshire town.

The improvements at Sutton-in-Ashfield bus station are designed to encourage people to use public transport, the county council said.

The project, which will cost almost £1m and will start on Monday, will take four months to complete.

The bus station will get electronic timetable information and higher kerbs to allow easier access to buses.

There will also be improved bus shelters, more CCTV and better lighting to improve safety.

Temporary bus stops will be located along Lammas Road, Carsic Lane and Priestic Road during the work.
