Police in Nottingham are using new powers to stop gangs from causing trouble in part of Nottingham.
Officers will be allowed to split up any youths in Top Valley, in the north of the city, who are believed to be causing harm or distress.
The introduction of the dispersal zone follows "rowdy and drunken" behaviour in the past few months, police said.
Anyone refusing to leave can be arrested. The order will run for six months and affects specific streets.
Any youths under the age of 16 who are out after 2100 GMT can be taken home by officers.
Drinking and swearing
Sgt Ian Johnson said: "In the past few months there have been a number of complaints from residents and businesses that groups are congregating in and around Top Valley.
"Those groups are often seen drinking, heard swearing and committing criminal damage and auto-crime - which is behaviour that can intimidate other members of the public.
"Some residents have said they feel like prisoners in their own homes," he added.
Dispersal zones have already been introduced in other areas across Nottinghamshire.
The zone in Top Valley covers Kyle View, Jacklin Gardens, Thompson Gardens, Rees Gardens, Hogan Gardens, Lytham Gardens and numerous other residential roads.
It has been introduced under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003.
