Gamekeeper murdered outside home

Scene of incident

Police are carrying out an extensive forensic search this weekend after a 50-year-old gamekeeper was murdered in north Nottinghamshire.

Nigel Bacon, also known as Neil, died after being stabbed.

He was found outside his cottage, Normanton Larches near Clumber Park, on Wednesday evening and later died at Bassetlaw District General Hospital.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Thursday showed that he died of stab wounds to his upper body.

An incident room was set up following his death.

The victim worked as a part-time gamekeeper but also had interests in a security firm.
