Eleven postboxes in an area of Nottinghamshire have been sealed off after a set of keys went missing.
The postboxes in Nuthall were sealed off on 18 November, leaving residents with few locations from which to post letters.
A Royal Mail spokesman said new locks had been ordered and the boxes should be back in use by the end of the month.
It is not known how the keys went missing but an investigation into the disappearance is under way.
The spokesman added: "Unfortunately we had to seal boxes in the NG16 area for security reasons on 18th November.
"We have ordered new locks and hope to have them back in service as soon as possible. We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused whilst the boxes are out of action."
