Man and wife assaulted in street

A 46-year-old man is being treated in hospital after being assaulted while walking through a Nottinghamshire town.

Police were called to Bingham Road in Radcliffe-on-Trent at about midnight on Sunday after the man and his 40-year-old wife were been attacked.

Police said the man suffered multiple injuries and was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre. His wife was also treated for her injuries.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Nottingham.

A 16-year-old boy who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail.
