Shop worker threatened with knife

Robbery cctv

A knife was held to the throat of a shop worker during a robbery in Nottingham, police have said.

They have released CCTV pictures of the moment when three masked men struck at the Co-op shop on Costock Avenue in Sherwood on Sunday evening.

The gang threatened staff and customers before escaping with cigarettes and cash. No one was hurt in the incident.

It is believed the group ran off along nearby Valmont Road. Officers appealed for information about the raid.

Det Insp Rob Griffin said: "It is a really serious attack. It is an armed robbery involving three men, one of whom was armed with a knife - and he seemed to think nothing of holding that knife to one member of staff's throat.

"Not only that but other gang members attacked staff and at the same time threatened customers who were just there going about their daily business."
