A Nottinghamshire mother has appealed for information about the death of her teenage son 10 months after his body was found on waste ground.
Josh Mitchell, 14, died in Boughton in September 2007 and police want anyone with information to contact them.
Police believe the teenager may have been experimenting with drugs before he died, but an official inquest into his death has not yet been held.
Both police and his family are asking for local people to come forward.
'Difficult time'
Ms Mitchell said: "Josh was a typical 14-year-old boy who was just starting to find his way in the world."
His mother was one of the first people to find her son collapsed near Turner Lane.
"He was incredibly precious and special to me and I need to know what happened to him on that day.
Det Insp Dave Sinclair said: "It is known that Josh was having a difficult time dealing with his adolescence. He was spending a lot of time away from home with his friends and is believed to have been experimenting with drugs.
"I believe that it is this that has stopped some members of the community coming forward with information relating to Josh's death."
Ms Mitchell said: "I am appealing to the people I live with, my community, to put aside any fears they have and tell Detective Inspector Dave Sinclair and his team what they know about the events of the day Josh died.
"I feel there are people who know more."
