Man denies attack on family home

A man accused of petrol-bombings, which put eight people's lives in danger, has been giving evidence in his defence.

Andrew Stafford, 25, is accused of targeting homes at St Ann's in Nottingham on the same night, in March last year. He denied being involved.

The prosecution said he threw one petrol bomb at his family's house because he hated his step-father.

But Mr Stafford told the jury he loved his mother and little sister, and would not have endangered them.

Three people were inside the first house targeted and a few hours later another house nearby was also petrol-bombed.

Five people had to be rescued from there by fire crews.

Mr Stafford is accused of arson with intent to endanger life.

The trial at Nottingham Crown Court continues.
