'Robin Hoods' set world record

People taking part in the bid A world record attempt to assemble the largest collection of Robin Hoods in Nottingham has been successful.

A total of 165 people dressed in Robin Hood costumes gathered as part of the attempt, judged by officials from the Guinness Book of World Records.

The event, which was organised by building society The Nottingham, was held near Nottingham Castle on Saturday morning.

Those taking part wore Robin Hood hats, tunics, tights and brown shoes.

Anna Blackwell, of The Nottingham, said she was very pleased that the attempt had been successful.

She said a wide range of people aged from about 15 months old to 60 years plus turned up to take part in the record.
