Cyclist threatened with a knife

The stolen bike A 14-year-old boy has been robbed of his BMX bike at knifepoint.

The youth was cycling in Bestwood Park Woods off Bestwood Lodge Drive in Arnold with two friends when six men approached them.

One of the group then threatened the boy with a knife and told him to hand over his bicycle.

The offender is white, in his early 20s, between 6ft and 6ft 3in, with short brown hair shaved close at the sides with a silver ear-ring stud.

He was wearing a grey Nike hooded top with grey bottoms tucked into his socks and black Airmax trainers.

The other people in the group are described as white men in their late teens to early 20s.

The boy's mother, 35, said her son was "really upset that he's lost his bike, as well as feeling shocked that this has happened to him and that there was nothing he could do to stop them".

Pc Brendan Gaynor appealed for witnesses to come forward with information.
