A former Notts man charged with killing his wife and baby in the US has been transferred to a psychiatric hospital.
Neil Entwistle, 28, is thought to be suffering from depression after prison guards found a letter he had written to his parents in Worksop.
Authorities have declined to comment on the letter.
Mr Entwistle denies fatally shooting his wife Rachel, 27, and their nine-month-old daughter, Lillian Rose, at their US home in January 2006.
'Electronic tag'
A US judge refused to grant a request for Mr Entwistle to return to England on bail on 18 December.
His lawyers argued he should be confined to his parents' house in Nottinghamshire and wear an electronic tag while on bail.
Prosecutors had said he might flee before his trial.
Mr Entwistle is alleged to have committed the murders in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, before flying to the UK.
He was arrested on 9 February and agreed to be extradited to the US, where he has since been in custody.
The trial is scheduled to begin on 1 October.
