A Nottingham MP has transformed one of the city's former lace maker's cottages into a state-of-the-art eco home.
Alan Simpson, who represents Nottingham South started the £200,000 conversion project two years ago.
The plush pad, which was once a pigeon-filled derelict cottage, now generates its own power and uses recycled water.
Its innovative design features walls made from used cardboard tubing and old glass bottles.
Among the environmentally friendly gadgets is a power showered which uses air to provide its pressure rather than electricity.
Mr Simpson said: "It has proved to me that you can take the most derelict of existing structures and turn it into something that is visually and aesthetically just a dream to live in and it is also ecologically sound.
"If we don't act soon, climate change and the damage we do to the planet will overrun us."
