Woman's screams scare off burglar

E-fit of burglar

An 85-year-old Northamptonshire woman forced an intruder to flee her home by screaming at him non-stop.

The woman found the would-be burglar in her bungalow in Little Houghton, near Northampton, on Saturday night.

A police spokesman said the man left the property because the 85-year-old did not stop screaming. He did not manage to steal anything.

Police have released an e-fit of the man who is described as 6ft (1.8m) and aged between 35 to 40 years old.
