Car driven straight at pedestrian

A 34-year-old man suffered cuts and grazing to neck and hands after being hit by a car driven straight at him.

The incident happened as the man walked along a pavement on Billing Brook Road near Standens Barn Road, in Northampton, early on Sunday morning.

A police spokesman said: "A dark coloured Vauxhall Cavalier stopped in the road near him.

"The car drove directly at the man, mounting the kerb and grass verge causing facial cuts and grazing."
