Woman drowned taking holiday swim

A 47-year-old woman drowned in the sea when she went for a swim while on a Spanish holiday, an inquest has heard.

Beverley Ann Roca, of Corby, Northamptonshire, was over the drink- drive limit when she died in July 2004, Kettering Magistrates' Court heard.

The inquest heard Ms Roca was in Salou with a friend, who turned away for less than a minute when she went for a swim and turned back to see her face down.

Northamptonshire Deputy Coroner Rodney Haig recorded the death as accidental.
