Man is arrested over death crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after an 18-year-old man died when the van he was in collided with a lorry.

Christopher David Black, of Scarcroft, Leeds, died in hospital following the crash on Tuesday afternoon on the M1 motorway in Quinton, Northamptonshire.

He was a front-seat passenger in a white Mercedes Sprinter van.

The 23-year-old van driver, from Pudsey in West Yorkshire, was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw the van or the white MAN LGV lorry prior to the incident to contact officers.
