Claudia police rule out passenger

A bus passenger who detectives wanted to speak to in connection with the Claudia Lawrence investigation has come forward, police said.

CCTV images had been released showing a man boarding a Coastliner bus on the morning Miss Lawrence failed to arrive for work at the University of York.

Police said officers had spoken to the man and he had since been eliminated from their inquiries.

Detectives are treating the case as suspected murder.

Miss Lawrence, 35, was last seen near her home on Heworth Road on 18 March.

The chef failed to arrive for work at the university's Goodricke College the following morning.

Crimestoppers has offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for her disappearance.
