Scream mask man in robbery plot

Scream mask

A man wearing a mask similar to those worn in the Scream films attempted to rob a North Yorkshire car wash armed with a pistol.

The man went to the Arc car wash in Hookstone Chase, Harrogate, and assaulted a member of staff after he refused to hand over money.

Police said the staff member was left shocked but not seriously injured.

Another man was seen outside the car wash acting as a look-out. Both men ran off in the direction of Sherwood Drive.

Police said the masked man is described as white, about 5ft 7in tall and was wearing a black hooded top and tracksuit bottoms.

The second man is described as white, a skinny build, with short dark hair.

North Yorkshire detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to the attempted robbery on Tuesday night contact them.
