Police probe death of injured man

Detectives are treating as suspicious the death of a North Yorkshire man who had suffered serious head injuries.

The 51-year-old man from Brompton near Northallerton died on Tuesday after being admitted to hospital.

North Yorkshire Police said they were investigating the circumstances of his death but no arrests had been made.

They are also investigating the death of a woman in her late 80s who was found at her home in Haxby, near York. She was pronounced dead in hospital.
