Company to submit new waste plans

A company which faced local opposition to build a waste incinerator in North Yorkshire has drawn up new plans for the project.

The application for an incinerator on Marston Business Park in Tockwith is still to be heard by the county council.

The plan had sparked concerns from residents who said they were worried about health implications.

The revised plans could be considered by the county council later this year.

BCB Environmental Management said the changes were aimed at incorporating the latest developments in technology and the plant was expected to cost £18m.

Managing director Phil Boardman said: "We are now working to a timetable that will see submission of the new application by the beginning of April.

"Hopefully, a determination by North Yorkshire County Council will be achieved by August."
