Woman rescued from cooking fire

Firefighters have rescued a woman from her flat in North Yorkshire after cooking left unattended caught fire.

The alarm was raised by another resident in the block of flats on Leeds Road in Harrogate on Friday evening.

Crews broke into the property and pulled the 32-year-old woman to safety. She was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation by paramedics.

A North Yorkshire fire spokesman said the blaze was caused by burning fish fingers which had been left unattended.
