Two die as car and lorry collide

A man and a woman have died after their car was involved in a head-on crash with a lorry in North Yorkshire.

A 10-year-old boy in the back of the car was seriously hurt in the accident between Whitley Bridge and Cridling Stubbs near the West Yorkshire border.

The 63-year-old man and 42-year-old woman died at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, where the boy was still being treated after Thursday's crash.

The lorry driver escaped with minor injuries, North Yorkshire Police said.
