Sex offender death suspect bailed

A 42-year-old man arrested by murder inquiry detectives in connection with the death of a convicted sex offender in Norfolk has been bailed.

The body of Gordon Boon, 73, of Norwich, was discovered in Rabbit Lane, Great Witchingham, on 6 October.

Mr Boon was last seen alive in the area around the Maids Heads Hotel in Norwich on 3 October. Post-mortem tests showed he died from strangulation.

The arrested man has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Boon was jailed for six years in 2001 for serious sexual offences and was also placed on the sex offenders register for life.
