Motorcyclist dies at racing track

A motorcyclist has died following an incident at the Snetterton motor racing circuit in Norfolk.

The rider died despite receiving immediate medical care after the accident, according to the owners of Snetterton circuit, MotorSport Vision.

"The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated and we are assisting the relevant authorities," they added in a statement.

Two other riders are also believed to have been injured in the incident.

The three riders crashed just before the pits at 0940 BST as advanced riders were about to start their last lap.

Mark Dean, who was riding at the track, said: "I think one has got broken ribs and one's got wrist damage and unfortunately the other lad died."

A track day was being held at the circuit where members of the public bring their own bikes on a two-mile (3.2km) circuit, reaching speeds of up to 160mph (257 km/h).
