Pizza robber to pay compensation

A man who snatched pizzas from a deliveryman without paying for them has been ordered to pay £600 compensation.

Ronald Park, 22, of Armes Street in Norwich, admitted robbery and accepted he had been "aggressive" to Daniel Manea-Patel on 29 February this year.

Ian James, defending, said "It is very much at the bottom end of robbery."

Recorder Guy Ayers, at Norwich Crown Court, handed Park a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years, and he must do 240 hours unpaid work.

Mr Manea-Patel said he feared for his safety and fled.

Handing down the sentence, Mr Ayers told Park: "You accept your aggressive manner led to the deliveryman to be intimidated and put in fear.

"My first duty is to protect people such as delivery drivers who should know that the courts will protect them."
