Paul Barrett, 33, was jailed for 10 months at Norwich Crown Court after admitting burglary at the city's East Anglian Motor Auctions in Aylsham Road.
He asked for 10 similar offences to be taken into consideration.
His lawyer Andrew Oliver said Barrett had been addicted to heroin for several years and drugs caused his offending.
When arrested Barrett admitted the burglary and thefts of a satellite navigation system and a computer console from two cars as well as the 10 other offences.
Judge Paul Downes told him: "The car thefts were mean offences which cause a great deal of inconvenience and stress."
