Beggar attacked outside station

attack scene A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked while begging outside a railway station.

The assault took place in the covered walkway to Norwich Railway Station late on Sunday.

The man, who is in his 20s and comes from Norwich, was begging with another when they became involved in an argument with a group of people.

Police, who are examing CCTV footage, said three people were involved with one person being the main attacker.

They are appealing for witnesses, particularly taxi drivers who were using the railway station and people going to and from the nightclubs on the Riverside.
