Two jailed for child sex assaults

Two men who indecently assaulted a young girl have been jailed.

Disabled Leonard Green, 76, of Stoke Ferry, Norfolk, who was also convicted of gross indecency with a second girl, was jailed for five years.

Judge Daniel Worsley said it was "wretched" to have to send an old man in a wheelchair to prison but his wickedness left him no choice.

Arthur Feltwell, 55, of South Ferry, King's Lynn, was jailed for four years at Norwich Crown Court.

Emotional damage

Their trial heard the two subjected the girl to a series of assaults over four years, then threatened her and offered her money to keep her quiet.

Judge Worsley told Green the emotional damage to his two young victims had been incalculable.

"The fear, distress, confusion and deep humiliation still continue five years on," he said.

Because both men denied the charges against them their victims had to publicly relive events.

Both men were put on the sex offenders' register for life.
