Go-ahead for chicken energy plant
A controversial plan to convert chicken waste into energy has been given the go-ahead despite local opposition.
Norfolk County Council approved Banham Poultry's application after a study found it would not create unpleasant odours, as some residents had feared.
The £10m renewable energy centre in Attleborough is expected to produce enough energy for that area.
It would burn heat-dried chicken by-products such as feathers and limbs to produce gas and electricity.
