A champion speed cyclist died after he was hit by a car on the A11 in Norfolk.
Zachary Carr, 30, who lived in Attleborough, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after the crash which involved a Rover.
The accident was on the northbound carriageway of the trunk road between Wymondham and the Thickthorn roundabout at about 0730 BST.
Mr Carr was known as Zak in the cycling world and was renowned as a solo and tandem cyclist.
He held national records at short and long distances as well as being an international.
He had begun racing for Great Britain as a pilot for disabled athletes hoping to make it to the 2008 Paralympics and took part in the Paralympic Open European Championships in Holland in August.
