Star's mother 'dumped fan mail'

George Sampson

The mother of teenage street dancing star George Sampson has denied dumping 16 bags of her son's fan mail.

Lesley Sampson pleaded not guilty to charges of fly-tipping during an appearance at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

She is alleged to have dumped the bags of letters from fans outside her home in Lyster Avenue, Warrington.

The case has been adjourned for a pre-trial review to take place at the same court on 24 August.

Ms Sampson has been prosecuted under the Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

West End star

George Sampson won Britain's Got Talent in 2008 and has signed to perform with Diversity, this year's winner.

In April, 15-year-old George won the favourite reality contestant award at the Digital Spy reality TV awards.

Since his success last year, he has performed in the West End in the street dance show, Into The Hoods.

He has danced at film premieres and has a huge fan following.
