Four arrested after man injured

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 32-year-old man was left in a critical condition following a road accident.

The victim was found on Holt Road in Kensington on Thursday at about 2220 BST, Merseyside Police said.

It is believed that the man had been in collision with a dark-coloured Land Rover Discovery registered L916 CCN.

Police believe the man may also have earlier been involved in an altercation with a number of youths on Holt Road.

Two men aged 19 and 28 from the West Derby area, a man, 19, from the Kirkby area and a 21-year-old from the Stockbridge Village area, are being questioned by police.

Holt Road was cordoned off whilst forensic science experts examined the scene.

House to house inquiries are on-going in the area.
