Elderly motorist dies after crash

An elderly woman has died after crashing her car into a garden wall on Merseyside, police have said.

The 78-year-old, from Burscough, West Lancashire, was driving a Fiat Punto along Eastway in Maghull when it hit a parked car and then the wall.

She was taken to hospital in Fazakerley after the crash on Tuesday night, but died on Wednesday.

No-one else was involved in the crash and Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
