Burst pipe forces school to close

A primary school on Merseyside has been forced to close after a water pipe burst, said the local authority.

Pupils at Brackenwood Junior School in Bebington, Wirral, were due to start back following the Christmas holidays.

A spokesman for the school said it is not yet clear when the building will reopen. Parents are advised to call and speak to staff later.

A water pipe is believed to have burst over the weekend. However the extent of the damage is not yet known.
