No charges after baby found dead

Post-mortem tests on the body of a baby found at a house in Warrington have found no evidence of criminal activity relating to her birth, police said.

The newborn girl was found on Tuesday after a woman was admitted to hospital with abdominal pains and blood loss.

A 56-year-old man, who was initially arrested and bailed by Cheshire police, has had his bail cancelled.

The woman who is believed to have given birth remains in a poorly but stable condition in hospital.
