The family of a boy who was killed when his bike was hit by a van have paid tribute to their "special young man".
Josh Easton, 12, of Vicars Cross, Chester, was cycling in Tarvin Road, Tarvin, when he was struck on Friday. He died at the scene.
His parents, Steven and Joanne Easton, and 18-year-old brother Ashley said he would be "deeply missed".
"He was a special young man who could light up a room with his cheeky grin and sense of humour," they said.
The Christleton High School pupil was a keen football player and represented his school and Everton Youth Academy.
His family added: "He also enjoyed motocross and mountain biking. He loved music and was learning to play guitar and drums."
The van was being driven by a 34-year-old man from Leeds, who was uninjured.
Cheshire police have appealed for witnesses to the accident.
