Thousands of people have attended a concert in memory of a schoolboy shot dead in Merseyside almost a year ago.
Rhys Jones, 11, was killed walking back from football practice near his home in Croxteth Park, on 22 August.
Merseyside stars including Mel C, Jimmy Tarbuck, Barbara Dickson and Natasha Hamilton played to more than 8,500 people at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
The proceeds from Friday's concert will go to the Liverpool Unites campaign for the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund.
The money will help build a community centre in honour of Rhys in Croxteth, the area where he grew up.
"The atmosphere was electric from beginning to end"
Rhys's parents, Melanie and Stephen Jones, attended the concert.
Earlier they had praised the performers, who also included Tony Christie, The Christians and Flock of Seagulls, for their commitment to the charity.
"To see people and performers of such professionalism, and such big names, give up their time to help the cause is just great.
"There is something for everyone on the bill. It will be a special way to mark Rhys's life."
Speaking after the concert, former Spice Girl Mel C said: "The atmosphere was electric from beginning to end.
"I am so pleased that I could be part of the Liverpool Unites concert and it is something else for Liverpool to be proud of."
Comedian Jimmy Tarbuck added: "It was an honour to be in such exalted company - very sad but still an honour."
Seven people charged in connection with Rhys's death are due to stand trial at Liverpool Crown Court on 2 October.
Four more people accused of perverting the course of justice in relation to Rhys's death have been bailed to reappear on 2 October, when they are expected to enter pleas.
