Hundreds of visitors are expected at Liverpool John Lennon Airport for a series of events marking its 75th anniversary this weekend.
Vintage aircraft will fly into the airport as part of the celebrations organised by the Friends of Liverpool Airport (FoLA) and The Jetstream Club.
Sunday's events will focus on the site of the landmark Grade II listed former terminal building.
The old Art Deco terminal is now the Liverpool Marriott Hotel South.
The airport was officially opened on 1 July 1933 by the Rt Hon The Marquis of Londonderry KG, Secretary of State for air.
Visitors to the celebrations will be able to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with a Spitfire, Hurricane and DC3 Dakota aircraft.
There will also be a history of Liverpool airport photographic and aviation art exhibition, as well as several lectures and films.
The event is organised in association with Liverpool John Lennon Airport, the Liverpool Marriott Hotel South, the Merseyside Transport Trust and is listed as a Liverpool 2008 event.
