Person's ashes found in theatre

Ashes

A pale blue box containing what are thought to be a dead person's ashes has been found at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool.

The box was left in the auditorium after a performance by Scouse medium Derek Acorah and former star of TV's Most Haunted programme.

A member of the theatre's front of house staff found the box which has yet to be claimed.

A spokesperson from the Empire said it was an "unusual" item of lost property.

The small box has the name of of well-known Liverpool funeral director Peter Coyne printed on it.

Staff believe its owner may not realise it is still at the theatre.

Jenny Morgan from the theatre said: "We assume someone brought them along to see if Derek could get some readings from them.

"But I'm not sure how anyone could forget them.

"Of all the lost property our staff has come across this is definitely one of the most unusual."
