Man's body is discovered in river

Police have recovered the body of a man from the River Dee near Chester.

A spokesman said an underwater search team was called to Farndon Bridge, Farndon, after a member of the public spotted the body.

It is believed the man is aged between 50 and 60. An investigation is now under way to establish his identity and the cause of death.

Anyone with information on the incident or the identity of the man is asked to contact police.
