Police seize pit-bull type dogs

Two pit-bull type dogs and about £20,000 in cash have been seized following a series of police raids at addresses across Merseyside.

Officers targeted 50 properties in Speke, Southport, Birkenhead and Kirkby in a crackdown on crime in the region.

A total of 43 people were arrested in connection with suspected drugs offences, theft, burglary and car crime during the raids on Thursday.

A collection of knives were also seized by officers.
