A reconstruction was featured on BBC Crimewatch last month and the reward was announced on Wednesday's programme.
A local businessman offered a £5,000 reward, a sum matched by Crimestoppers.
New witnesses
The money would be paid out if information led to the successful arrest and prosecution of any of the persons involved.
A man was charged with manslaughter, but the case was thrown out of court after three days because of a lack of evidence.
Merseyside Police are keen for new witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with information should contact police or Crimestoppers.
