Heavy rains overnight have caused floods in parts of Cheshire.
Torrential rain flooded under the doors of Ravenbank Community Primary School on Pepper Street in Lymm, near Warrington, during a parents' evening.
Bob Williams, head of communications at Warrington Borough Council said the school would be closed until the damage was assessed.
Mr Williams said two inches of water covered the floors.
And he praised parents at the abandoned parents' evening who stayed to help mop up.
Parent help
"One parent even went home and filled some sandbags," he said.
Fire crews were attended the school and were also called out to a number of flooded homes in the Lymm area and in nearby Woolston on Wednesday night.
The floods come days after storms hit the region.
Wright Robinson Specialist College on Abbey Hey Lane, Gorton, Manchester, closed after it was hit by lightning during weekend storms.
It reopened to students on Thursday.
