Teenager injured in city stabbing

A teenager has been stabbed in Manchester city centre.

Police were called to Bloom Street in the early hours where they found the 18-year-old with stab wounds to his arm and back.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested by officers nearby on suspicion of wounding with intent. He is in custody and due to be questioned.

A number of road closures were put in place while police investigated the incident, but have all now been lifted.
