Tribute to woman stabbed to death

Katie Boardman

The family of a 24-year-old woman who was stabbed to death at a house in Bolton have paid tribute to her.

Katie Summers, known locally as Katie Boardman, was found by police at the house in Masefield Drive, Farnworth, Greater Manchester, on Thursday.

A 29-year-old man is being questioned by police on suspicion of murder.

Her family said: "Katie was a daughter, a mother, and was adored by her two sisters. She was a bubbly person, fun to be with and extremely generous."

They added: "Katie's family were her life. What has happened has taken away our chance to hold her and to tell her that we loved her.

"She had a particular gift when it came to children - they all loved her and she had the ability to come down to a child's level and communicate with them. She also loved to dance.

"We were all extremely proud of Katie, particularly recently as she had been very strong and had ended a difficult relationship.

"Katie had just gained the confidence and self-belief to begin a new chapter in her life."
