Proms in the Park concert staged

Thousands of classical music lovers are set to descend on a Greater Manchester park to listen to a Proms concert.

The Proms in the Park concert will be held in Buile Hill Park, Salford, and will feature the city's very own famous tenor, Russell Watson.

The event will also mark the BBC Philharmonic's first concert in the city since its £20m sponsorship deal with Salford City Council.

The concert, which starts at 1930 BST, will climax with a firework finale.
