A naked man who was stabbed and beaten by robbers who broke into his home has offered a £20,000 reward to help find his attackers.
Eddie Nevins, 54, from Bury in Greater Manchester, said he was asleep in bed when the two men broke down his door and one screamed "stab him, stab him".
Mr Nevins said he was beaten "black and blue" and said he is now so afraid he has put his house up for sale.
Police said they are determined to catch those responsible.
When he heard the men break in about 0030 GMT on 23 May, Mr Nevins he said he grabbed a rounders bat near his bed to protect himself.
He hit one of the intruders who had hit him twice around the head.
Mr Nevins said: "If I had not hit him and escaped I would not be here today.
"I'm still recovering now. I was black and blue from top to bottom. The attack was horrendous. I am very lucky to be having this conversation."
'Right to feel safe'
Mr Nevins, who was the only person home at the time, said he escaped from the robbers by jumping over a fence near his property in Nutt Lane, Simister.
Police confirmed that two men, one armed with a knife and one with a piece of wood, burst into the house and the pair demanded cash before attacking the victim.
It is hoped pictures released from the CCTV footage will help catch the offenders.
The father-of-three was treated in hospital for a gash to his head and a wound to his hand.
Nothing was stolen during the robbery.
Det Con Dave Potter said: "These men have forced their way into a house and assaulted a completely innocent man.
"Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home and I am determined to catch whoever is responsible.
"The fact the victim has offered a substantial reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible shows the extent to which this incident has affected him and I would urge anyone with information to contact us."
